This rare sterling silver chatelaine is antique, 1800s or early 1900's. It has two pencils, one pocket knife, a heart charm and a a medallion with a young ladies head on it. The top piece that hooks over your belt has the initials CC carved into it. It looks like this piece had a loop or something on the top at one time that either broke off or was taken off. The top piece measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches. The overall length of the chatelaine is 9 3/4 inches. The packet knife measures 2 1/4 inches long. The girl medallion measures 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches. The pencils measure 2 inches long each and one has a red stone on the top. The little heart measures 3/4 x 5/8 inches. Each hanging piece is on a slip ring so they can come off or be changed around. The back of the girl's head medallion is stamped Handmade Sterling 55. The larger pencil has led still in it, I can't tell on the smaller pencil. The overall condition is very good. It needs to be polished but I will leave that to the buyer. The pocket knife case has a couple of shallow dings in it but otherwise all looks good. It weighs 63 grams. The odd shadow on the photo of the over the belt piece with the initials on it is just my poor photography.
